How to Vote

Voting day is november 14, 2023

You need to:

  • Be a Canadian citizen
  • Be 18 years old
  • Have lived in the NWT for
    6 months in a row

Election Date: Tuesday November 14th
Times: 9 AM to 8 PM
Where: Multiplex Arena 
(across from the Fire Hall)

a ride for you. 
You do not need to vote for me!

Voting Before Election Day: 

You can vote early at the office of the
Returning Officer in Yellowknife.
You will still need to meet the ID requirements listed above.

It is open six days a week
until election day!

Office location: 

  • Center Square Mall near Tim Hortons.
    It was formerly the COVID Vaccine Clinic.  

Hours of Operation:

  • Monday – Friday:
    10 AM – 1 PM & 4PM – 6 PM
  • Saturday: 10 AM – 2 PM

There are multiple other ways to vote including by mail, online, or in person in
your home community.

     What you need to vote:

  • Your voting card – This should have been mailed to you.  You will also need one piece of photo ID.  The address on your Photo ID does not need to match your voting Card.  Vote in the riding printed on your voting card.

    OR

  • If you do not have a voting card, bring two pieces of ID – one piece must be Photo ID with your correct address. If your ID does not show your proper address you will also need to bring a piece of mail that was mailed to you at your current address.  A phone bill, bank statement, or utility bill will work.

    OR

  • If you do not have any photo ID you need to bring one piece of government ID (Health Card, SIN Card, Library card, etc) and a piece of mail that shows where you live (phone bill, utility bill, etc).

    OR

  • As a last resort, if you have no ID, you can have someone in your riding vouch for you.  Whoever is vouching for you must be in your neighbourhood and have proper ID.  In this case you do not need any ID.  Whoever is vouching for you will need ID.
